The Blue Elephant Craft Brew House-Norfolk County

Barley, hops, wheat … and sweet potatoes? It may not be your typical beer recipe, but then again, Heather Pond-Manorome isn't your typical brewmaster. The Blue Elephant Craft Brew House serves up additive-free beer made from local, in-season ingredients and is brewed in small batches for maximum quality. Pop in for a pint in October and enjoy their Sweet 'P' autumn ale made from locally grown pumpkins and sweet potatoes. Or quench your thirst in the summer with their Harmony Hive Honey Ale and support local beekeepers while you're at it. With sales booming and more and more restaurants lining up to carry the seasonal suds, Pond-Manorome plans on expanding the microbrewery in 2013 and adding a retail store to the operations.

The Blue Elephant is located at 96 Norfolk Street South Simcoe, Ontario.  Contact us at 519-428-2886.

The Blue Elephant Restaurant in Simcoe, Ontario was established in 1992.  Over the past twenty years of business, the restaurant has continued to evolve. From a fine dining establishment with white linen to a causal pub, and now, Norfolk's first, and only, Brew House.  Heather Pond and James Grant had two simple goals in mind… serving fresh ales, lagers, and pilsners alongside great local food, and to have fun doing it. Ever since we first went on tap,  September 2012, our brews have taken off and "they're drinkin' them faster than we're makin' them."

Look for our rotating selection of seasonal brews throughout the year including our Sweet 'P' Ale (using locally grown Pumpkins and Sweet Potatoes) and our Harmony Hive Honey Ale.

Our ales are brewed in traditional European fashion, using only barley, wheat, hops andpure water. And, in accordance with ancient purity laws, no additives or preservatives.

On January 15th we had some very special super secret guests stop by, Mumford and Sons!!!!!

They checked out our Brewhouse and we hoped they were going to make a stop on their Gentlemen of the Road Tour.  As luck would have it we got it Simcoe is the second of the five stops on their summer tour.  \

The band headlines a two day music festival at the Norfolk County Fairgrounds on August the 23rd and 24th.

Tickets can be purchased at 12-Peel Street in Simcoe or online at www.gentlemenoftheroad.com

They go on sale at 11am and are worth $109-dollars each.
